Cashback is the simplest credit card reward. Compare popular cashback credit cards in India for online shopping, food, bills and Tata brands, updated for 2026's changes.

Last reviewed: October 2026

Cashback credit cards are the easiest rewards to understand: you spend, and a percentage comes back to you. No points to convert, no catalogues. But in 2026 several banks lowered caps or changed rates, so the "best" card has shifted. Here's an updated look at popular cashback credit cards in India.

The cards in a little more detail

Cashback SBI Card

5% on online spends and 1% on offline spends, with exclusions such as rent, wallet loads, fuel and utilities. From April 2026, SBI Card reduced the cashback cap per statement cycle, so heavy online spenders now hit the cap sooner. Fee waived on ₹2 lakh annual spend. See Cashback SBI Card

Amazon Pay ICICI Bank Credit Card

5% back on Amazon for Prime members (3% for others), 2% at Amazon Pay partners and 1% on most other spends. Cashback comes as Amazon Pay balance, not cash. See Amazon Pay ICICI

Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card

7.5% on Myntra and 5% on Flipkart, each capped at ₹4,000 a quarter, plus 4% at some partner merchants and 1% elsewhere. Best if most of your shopping is on Flipkart and Myntra. See Flipkart Axis

HSBC Live+ Credit Card

10% on dining, food delivery, groceries and eligible shopping and utility spends, up to ₹1,200 a month in total, and 1.5% on most other spends. Good for families with big food and grocery bills. See HSBC Live+

Axis Bank Ace Credit Card

5% on electricity, phone and other bills paid through Google Pay and 4% on Swiggy, Zomato and Ola, with a combined monthly cap on these two rates. Base cashback is 1.5%. Fee waived on ₹2 lakh annual spend. See Axis Ace

Swiggy HDFC Bank cards (Ornge and BLCK)

In 2026 HDFC replaced the original Swiggy HDFC card with two versions. BLCK keeps 10% back on Swiggy (with a minimum order value and a cap); Ornge gives 5% on Swiggy with a lower fee. Existing Swiggy card holders are being moved to one of these. Check HDFC's current terms.

Tata Neu Infinity HDFC Bank Credit Card

Earns NeuCoins: 5% on eligible Tata Neu and partner brand spends and 1.5% on most other spends. NeuCoins can only be used inside the Tata Neu ecosystem, so it's best for regular Tata shoppers.

How to pick the right cashback card

  1. Find your biggest spend category. Online shopping, one marketplace, food, or bills?
  2. Check the cap. A 5% card with a low cap may give less than a 1.5% card with no cap if you spend a lot.
  3. Check the exclusions. Rent, fuel, wallets, insurance and utilities are often excluded or capped.
  4. Check how cashback is paid. Statement credit is best; store balance or coins are only useful if you shop there.
  5. Do the fee maths. Cashback earned in a year minus the fee (if not waived) is your real gain. Fees are listed in the card's Key Fact Statement, which issuers must give you under the RBI's credit card rules.

Many people use two cards: one for their main online store and one for everything else.

The bottom line

The best cashback credit card is the one that pays the most on what you already spend, after caps and fees. Check the 2026 changes before applying, and always pay your bill in full: interest wipes out cashback very quickly.
